Our school is a happy, safe and thriving community where we encourage active participation and learning every day. Pupils need to link their learning and make connections between lessons and the knowledge they acquire. They can only do this if they attend every day. It also assists pupils in their social connections, forming bonds with others and following what is happening in class and on the playground.
Attendance is therefore a very important aspect to school life as it can make a child feel secure and valued as part of the school/class. We ask all pupils to come to school every day, on time, with a smile on their face, ready to learn.
We ask parents to support this by assisting their child to be positive about attending and to be punctual.
Those who struggle to attend can receive support from the school or external agencies. Please ask if you feel you may need this.
Please see our attendance policy below and useful documents for parents.
PLEASE NOTE: there are new DfE attendance guidelines from August 2024, including tighter restrictions on absence and increased penalty notice fines.
