Keeping Safe

As you will be aware, the next stage in the lifting of COVID restrictions is due to occur today, 17th May. However, due to the extreme level of positive COVID -19 cases in our community (making Erewash one of the highest area in England) we would ask that families take a cautious approach to prevent any further spreading of the virus.

We will still be asking parents to wear face masks when collecting pupils, we will be keeping to our class bubbles, we will be limiting contact between pupils and continuing to use ‘hands-face-space’ procedures.

Pupils will continue to access the playground independently in the mornings, with parents remaining outside of the manned gates.

This is to ensure that we can keep as many classrooms open and avoid further disruption to learning, as well as supporting the health and safety of all of our families.

It is vital that we remain vigilant and monitor any cases of ill-health. If your child becomes ill (regardless of the symptoms) please contact school for advice prior to sending your child to school. We will also be tracking cases in Wilsthorpe School as this will undoubtedly have implications for siblings.

Your co-operation is appreciated.
