As we enter our final week, it has been unreal to consider all that has happened this term. Our plans to reopen have been destroyed by the school fire and we have had to manage between 2 temporary sites as well as providing education for the groups of children identified by the government. We have also managed to host a return morning for Year 3-5, and will welcome our new children in Year 2 on Monday. It has simply been wonderful to see our pupils again.
What has also been staggering is the response of our families. Many, many wanting to help but at a time when there was simply nothing they could do. We are now asking for that help from those who want to.
As I turn to focus on the relaunch of our school for September, there will start to be even more meetings and conversations over the next 2 weeks regarding the premises. However, this is only part of the work that needs to be done.
We are asking for any families who want to help to see if they have any of the following they would like to donate:
1. good quality books for children - either fiction or non-fiction.
2. any of the classics books
3. DVD's of a G or U rating that are appropriate for aged 7-11 children. Or even natural history/ nature DVDs such as David Attenborough
4. any good quality school uniform - jumpers, skirts, trousers, PE kits
We will be accepting donations all this week.
Please ensure they are of a good quality as we intend to use them for reading and re-stocking the library as we have lost thousands of books and also to support our children.
Many, many thanks for your support.
