  • School to re-open

    Mon 20 Sep 2021 RWilmot

    Good afternoon

We have just received the results of the water testing and have been informed that the water is safe. The water quality levels are all way below the limits set so the water quality is deemed to be ‘good’.

We do need to get 2 further test results back, one for fluoride and one for TVC (total viable count). Therefore, we will continue to use bottled water for drinking purposes as a precaution until this time.

On receipt of these results, it is now possible to open so we will re-open tomorrow (Tuesday 21st September for all pupils). However, if you wish to keep your child at home until the other tests are returned, this is your parental decision and you should inform the school of this choice.

Please ensure your child brings a full bottle of water to assist in this matter. We look forward to having everyone back.

  • School unable to be opened

    Sun 19 Sep 2021 RWilmot

Work on the water testing for Harrington and Parklands continues to be carried out. We have been assured that all of the results should be with us tomorrow (Monday) and we will continue to chase an outcome as a matter of urgency. Unfortunately, this means that the schools will remain closed tomorrow. We will update you as soon as we have any news and apologise for the inconvenience caused.

  • Water issue

    Fri 17 Sep 2021 RWilmot

As you will be aware both Parklands and Harrington Schools have had to close to due to an issue in accessing water.

Water testing has now been completed at both schools and we are awaiting the test results. As soon as we have them, we will be able to set a date to re-open. This is obviously not what anyone wanted but the matter is out of our control. We are aiming to re-open as soon as we are able to. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.

  • Update re school closure

    Thu 16 Sep 2021 RWilmot

It is with huge regret that I must inform you that the issue has not been fully resolved and we will be closed tomorrow.

We have been seeking some alternative solutions so that we can open on Monday and I shall keep you posted over the next few days through the dojo and school website. I can only apologise.

  • Update - 16th September

    URGENT - school closure

I need to report that we have a problem with accessing the water supply and so are unable to open for pupils and staff tomorrow (Wed 15th Sept).
I apologise for the inconvenience and short notice but I have only just received notification of the problem.
I am meeting with agencies tomorrow and will keep you updated throughout the day via dojo and through the website.

Work will be posted online via the website for pupils to access for the day.

All classes have settled in well and are quickly learning the new routines. Further information will be sent out to you over the next week.

Look out for the letter to invite you to meet the teacher - a parent meeting where you can learn about what will be happening in the classroom and how the timetable is structured, including PE days.
