  • Storm Babet

    Fri 20 Oct 2023 RWilmot

It's obviously going to be VERY wet today. Pupils will be encouraged to enter the school by the NEAREST door possible as they arrive. Spare/change of clothes can be brought - probably spare shoes and socks will be useful.
We will be keeping as warm and dry as we can today.
I will be keeping an eye on the environmental alerts re flooding in the area so please keep checking the dojo for any updates.

What an amazing end to a fantastically busy year. Thanks, on behalf all of the staff, for your kind words, messages, cards and gifts.
We wish the staff and pupils who are leaving this summer all the best for the future. For the rest of the Harrington family, we wish you a happy and safe summer.
The class dojo is now closed whilst the staff take a break.
I will still be working through the summer so any emergency messages can still be posted to me.
Thank you for all your support. See you in September!

  • Strike Action - April and May 23

    Fri 21 Apr 2023 RWilmot

As you may be aware, the teaching union NEU has called for further strike action in light of the ongoing dispute with the government over pay and terms and conditions.

The next 2 days of industrial action are set for Thursday 27th April and Tuesday 2nd May.

As you will be aware, we have done our upmost to keep continuity for the children with staff who are not involved in the strike action. However, Thursday is one of the days that we have fewer qualified staff in school as some staff work part time and are not in school and we are not able to recruit for cover using supply agencies. This action also comes at a time when Year 6 pupils are preparing to sit their end of year formal tests in mid-May.

I have been informed today that I will not have a full complement of teaching staff in school on these days.

Therefore, on Thursday 27th April we will only be open for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils. Year 3 and 4 will receive learning packs to be completed at home. These will be sent home on Wednesday.

On Tuesday 2nd May, school will be open for Years 3, 4 and 6. Year 5 will not be in school and we will send learning packs to be completed at home. These will be sent home of the Friday prior to this date (due to Monday being a bank holiday).

If there is further strike action called, we will need to consider the arrangements for pupils at this time.
