  • Diwali day In Year 5

    Mon 21 Oct 2024 RWilmot

Mrs A brought the excitement of Diwali to share with the pupils in Year 5. The children worked with her to paint diva lamps which will be taken to her house to use in her family's celebration. She then spend many a moment with care creating beautiful henna designs for the children and staff.

We wish everyone a Happy Diwali for next week.

  • Macmillan Fundraising news

    Fri 18 Oct 2024 RWilmot

Thank you to everyone who supported this charity event - we managed to raise £258! Mrs Willsher has taken this to the post office to pledge on behalf of the school. Our certificate will be put on display in our school foyer as soon as it arrives. Many thanks.

  • Harvest donations

    Fri 18 Oct 2024 RWilmot

Next Tuesday is our Harvest festival - a lovely celebration led by our Year 3 pupils.
We would like to create a harvest table of food donations. This could be a tin of food, a carton of custard, some apples or veg or even a packet of biscuits. If every child brought bring in just one item, we will be able to provide many lovely hampers to donate to worthy causes in our community such as our local elderly residents, churches and food banks. Any donations can be brought to school for our harvest table from tomorrow.
We will then arrange to have the 'gifts' distributed by the end of term.
Many thanks for supporting this good cause.

  • Helpful Reminders

    Mon 14 Oct 2024 RWilmot

We have a really busy week this week.

Parents evening appointments - please make your way to the hall to sign in with Mrs Clarke. Your child's books will be on show for you prior to your appointment. Each appointment is for 10 minutes. If you need a longer time, we will set up an additional meeting time.
There is a very small creche for Harrington pupils - only bring children if necessary and we will need you to collect them as soon as possible after your appointment to make space for others. Small children will need to be kept with you.
We have LOTS of lost property - these will be out in the hall for you to look through over the next 2 evenings.

Wednesday - reminder this is school photographs day. If you want to have a family photo, please arrive to the hall from 8:30 for this to be a completed before school starts. Siblings within Harrington will be done from 9:10. Please send your child in uniform. Any pupils who have PE later on Wednesday can bring their PE kit to change into.

Friday - this is our first Super Learning Day with the focus on teamwork. Pupils need to attend in a school PE kit on Friday (no football kits or casual clothes please). Trainers can be worn

  • Thanks for your support

    Mon 30 Sep 2024 RWilmot

Thank you to everyone who supported our cake sale for the Macmillan's coffee morning appeal this evening. Despite the rain, lots of you turned out to buy the cakes and biscuits to raise funds for this worthwhile cause.
Many thanks for all the donations and for our super volunteers (and staff) who helped to organise, sort and sell the cakes.
We'll let you know how much we raise.

  • Cashless Payment System

    Fri 27 Sep 2024 RWilmot

Tonight we are sending home information, usernames and passwords for families of Y3 pupils to have the option to connect to Parent Pay (an electronic method of paying for meals and trips at school). You do not have to use this system - we will still be taking cash for those who prefer this. The information will be found in a letter in their reading record.

  • Macmillan Coffee Morning Fundraiser

    Thu 26 Sep 2024 RWilmot

As is traditional now at Harrington, we will be having a cake sale on
    MONDAY 30th SEPTEMBER at 3.30pm.

Due to popular demand this will now be at 3.30pm to enable as many families to support this tremendous charity as possible. Sadly, most people in our school community have been affected by cancer in one way or another and this event helps us all to show our support and enjoy a yummy piece of cake!
We would like to ask for donations of cakes to be brought to school on the morning of the 30th September.
These can be shop bought (in their wrappers) or homemade with a full list of ingredients please. STRICTLY NO NUTS PLEASE. We will send more details and reminders nearer the time but would really appreciate you letting us know below if you feel able to donate cakes or biscuits for this important event.

Thank you in advance from the Harrington Family
