  • Safer Internet Support

    Wed 12 Feb 2025 RWilmot

Yesterday we sent home a useful guide to support you with internet safety and the concept of scams and phishing. Always report your concerns.

Pupils have been learning how to   STOP-----THINK-----CONSIDER, IS IT SAFE?

To mark Safer Internet Day, pupils reflected on their own online conduct and about whether things are real or fake - make sure you ask them about the tasks they completed as they were very enlightening.

  • Year 5 visit the Space Centre

    Thu 16 Jan 2025 RWilmot

    Our Special Space Day!
WOW! What an amazing day Year 5 had, celebrating and learning about all things space. Going to the planetarium was a firm favourite highlight of the trip - what an experience. Pupils even got to see a piece of the moon (by climbing 144 steps!)
Well done on such a super day.

  • Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all! Welcome back to the Class Dojo for 2025.
School is due to open tomorrow (however, I will be continuing to monitor the dreaded forecast of snow!).
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back - so don't forget to wrap up warmly

  • Rocking with Times Tables

    Fri 03 Jan 2025 RWilmot

Next Friday (7th February) we will be hosting an NSPCC TTRS Rocks Day. Pupils will have the opportunity to dress like a rock star and show their skills on TTRS. We will be having each class contribute to our school total by accessing TTRS on our Chrome Books.

The competition starts 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. so pupils can also log on at home too! We will be logging individual activity and class activity, with prizes for our best times table rock stars. So grab your gear, sort your outfit and get your fingers twitching to answer the times tables questions. Good Luck!

Look out for our winter newsletter sent home today with lots of dates and information for you.

  • WEATHER CONDITIONS AND SCHOOL OPENING

    Tue 19 Nov 2024 RWilmot

    IMPORTANT MESSAGE.
Parklands and Harrington remained open today as usual, despite the cold and snowy conditions. However, the temperature has to be lower tomorrow (-1 at 9:00) and also on Thursday (-2 at 9:00).
Our aim is for school to stay open  as long as it is safe to do so but we do have concerns that the ground is very wet from the melted snow and this could freeze overnight and create some difficult access conditions.
Mrs Callaghan and I have directed for a grounds check to be completed in the morning at 7:00a.m. to check that it remains safe to access the schools. The decision will be made jointly from both schools and shared with you as soon as we can in the morning.
Again, I will reiterate that it is our aim to remain open, if we are able to.
