    Thu 12 Sep 2024 RWilmot

We invite all parents/carers to our first parents evening to ‘Meet the Teacher’ at school to commence our partnership work with you. This will take place on Wednesday 18th September (6:00p.m for Y3 and Y5; 6:45- 7:30p.m. for Y4 and Y6). This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the classrooms and have an overview of what is to be taught, including news on the curriculum and timetable. We encourage all families to attend.
Please note: this is an adult only appointment.

  • Welcome back!

    Fri 06 Sep 2024 RWilmot

A warm welcome back to school for our new academic year 2024-25 for all our families, new and old. We are looking forward to having the children back and getting back into the swing again!

  • Parent Governor Role

    Tue 23 Apr 2024 RWilmot

Calling anyone who would be interested to help work regarding the strategic plans for the school. We are looking to elect two new parent governors to join our existing governing body.
As this role has very specific parameters, we would like to hold some meetings to discuss the role and clarify the expectations of this work. If you are interested, please contact Mrs Wilmot for further details.

  • Sporting Success

    Fri 19 Apr 2024 RWilmot

Well done to our Year 5 netball team who attended the netball festival at Trent College today. Some great play was seen and everyone raised their game throughout the competition, with a fabulous win in our final game.
Thanks also to the team who have been training with the children. Lovely to see many of the parents supporting too!

  • Campus Access

    Wed 17 Apr 2024 RWilmot

We still have debris on the parking area so there is less space as usual and there may be machinery present in there over the next few days as this is removed. Parents should use this area at their own risk until this has been cleared.

  • Campus Update due to High Winds

    Mon 15 Apr 2024 RWilmot

URGENT UPDATE - Despite having most of the tree damage and branches cleared, there has continued to be further damage and destruction throughout the day due to the excessive swirling wind. I have inspected the area at 2:30 p.m. today and, as a consequence, the parking area will need to remain closed due to health and safety reasons.
As these conditions are expected for the next few hours, we are asking parents NOT to enter the campus by car or foot via Derby Road but to use the safer Briar Gate access route. Please use the roads around the school if you need to park and walk onto the campus.
We will inspect the area tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m and will update you accordingly.

  • URGENT Campus Update

    Mon 15 Apr 2024 RWilmot

URGENT MESSAGE- we have had some significant tree damage this morning at the Derby Road entrance. As a result, the parking area is closed due to health and safety reasons. The entrance fencing has also received damage so we are asking parents NOT to enter the campus by car this morning. Please use the roads around the school if you need to park and walk onto the campus.
I am aware there has been a tree fallen on Wilsthorpe Road. Please take care when travelling as routes may be blocked or traffic may be heavy.
We are expecting some delays in pupil arrivals. All late arrivals should report to the main office.
This restriction of access applies to all 3 schools.

    Wed 27 Mar 2024 RWilmot

Reminder that we finish for the Easter holiday at home time on Thursday. School re-opens on Monday 15th April.

  • Water Safety Work

    Fri 22 Mar 2024 RWilmot

Well done to Year 5 for completing their training for the Water Safety 2 award. This involved calling for help, with reach and rescue. The children then learned the huddle position for group safety and survival in water. We ended our session with the ‘float to live’ principle- as recommended by the RNLI. A very important but fun lesson at the pool today!
