  • Christmas Events

    Wed 11 Dec 2019 RWilmot

Christmas is really getting close now - we have had our Christmas disco last week (attended by 120 pupils) to begin our count-down. All the children behaved really well in their excitement and enabled much fun to be had by all. Thank you to all the staff and parents who came to help.

Last night our choir attended St.John's Church to participate in our Christmas carol service with Parklands School. It was a lovely evening and all the singers made the night very special indeed. Well done.

  • Y5 swimming

    Mon 02 Dec 2019 RWilmot

The last swimming for Year 5 this term is Friday 6th December. All pupils must report to the pool, even if they are not swimming. We do not require any spotters this week - thank you.

Swimming lessons begin again on Friday 10th January 2020.

  • The cold weather is here!

    Mon 02 Dec 2019 RWilmot

It appears that winter has arrived and brought the cold weather. ALL pupils must bring a coat to school.

Hats, gloves and scarves are advised for the cold days as playtimes and lunchtimes will be outdoors.

Your co-operation is appreciated as we do not have any spare accessories in school.

  • A Cracker of a Christmas Event!

    Tue 26 Nov 2019 RWilmot

A big thank you to everyone who supported our Snowflake Fayre Christmas event - the enterprise team for making and running stalls and games with such enthusiasm and to the parents and children who attended and joined in the fun!

Despite the damp, cold weather the festive fun began to build, ending with our fabulous raffle prize draw. A big thank you to all the local business links who donated a gift or prize.

Well done to the Harrington Team for creating such a good night for all.

  • Anti-bullying day

    Sun 17 Nov 2019 RWilmot

Pupils spent time to think about others on Friday, including ways to stamp out bullying by realising that 'change starts with us'.

Pupils shared their thoughts and pledged to help others by making sure they set the right example.

Bullying is not acceptable - from children or adults - and our council members spent time to complete a questionnaire with all classes to canvass opinion. This work will be completed over the next few weeks. Look out for our displays in school.

  • Christmas is coming..!

    Sun 17 Nov 2019 RWilmot

Don't forget it's Snowflake Fayre on Monday 25th November.

It's 20p to enter per person (up to a maximum of £1 per family) and we have many stalls and games for you to experience. If you need a break, head for our lovely cafe or take a pit-stop at the hotdog stall. Plenty of fun and Christmas ideas for gifts, as well as our famous raffle. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. We hope to see many of you there.

  • Children In Need

    Sun 17 Nov 2019 RWilmot
Thank you to every one - pupils and families- who contributed to our fund raising event for Children In Need. Despite the weather, pupils changed into their pyjamas to raise money, the first time many were teamed with wellies!. Many children bought Mrs Mozley's yummy cookies at break and spent time to buy raffle tickets and loom band products. It was a great atmosphere - providing a much needed lift from the grey damp day. Well done.
  • Weather Update!

    Thu 14 Nov 2019 RWilmot

Based on current advice and information, Harrington Junior school will be open for pupils who can travel to school safely

Wellingtons are advised. Please bring an extra pair of socks and shoes to wear indoors.

Pupils should come in school uniform and bring their pyjamas to change into once they have arrived.

Year 5 swimming is cancelled - pupils should arrive at school for 9:00 a.m.

All pupils should arrive at 9:00 a.m, no earlier please. This is to allow access directly into classrooms and avoid a playground with standing water. The exception is those children attending Panda Club.

If there is any major change due to the flooding, we will send an update via the Dojo or website.

  • Cross Country

    Thu 17 Oct 2019 RWilmot
Well done to all pupils who participated in the cross country event today. Many schools took part and our pupils did a great job - with many of them asking to sign up for next year's event and even requesting some pre-season training! Their enthusiasm was a credit to the school.
  • Safeguarding

    Thu 17 Oct 2019 RWilmot

    Polite reminder:

Please do not use the school drive to access the campus, to drop off pupils or to park on. One parent nearly reversed into children and parents walking to school today.

If you are using the area at the end of the drive, please park sensibly to allow cars to move into the area and exit it - please do not block access routes or park on double yellow lines.

Please see the latest safeguarding letter in the newsletter section- there has been a suspicious car reported. This was not during the school day or at home time but later in the evening.
