Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
The office staff have been looking at school meal payments and we have several families who now need to clear their outstanding balances as we wish to settle accounts in the next few weeks. Please ensure payments start next week either to make instalments or to pay balances in full, via cash to the office or via ParentPay.
Many thanks
A big round of applause to our Year 6 children who completed the last for their formal exams today. They really did try their best and behaved impeccably throughout. It has been physically and mentally demanding week so we are all looking forward to some restful activities and our celebratory picnic tomorrow before we begin again with our work next week. Well done Year 6!
Anyone lost any uniform? We have LOADS once again! Thanks to Miss Killen who has sorted lost items (collected between March to now). Please drop in to claim any items before we break for half term.
A big request to name all clothing as this makes it so easy to return items - we have over 30 unnamed jumpers/cardigans all needing their owners to find them again.
Thank you to all the children who generously donated books to this year’s book swap! They all got to choose a different book to take home and keep. Also, a huge thank you to our school council reps who helped to set up and organise the book swap event! Happy reading! :-)
Reminder that Monday is a Bank Holiday (May Day) and school is closed to pupils. We re-open on Tuesday (6th May).
I hope you all enjoy the extended weekend and the sun stays shining for us all! 😊
Keep safe in the sun - keep hydrated and remember to SLIP (on a t-shirt), SLOP (on the sun cream) SLAP (on a sun hat) 🌞
Our latest Harrington Newsletter has been given to the children today. Please make sure you have a look at this as there’s lots of important information not to miss key dates, events, transition etc.
We end our first week with yet another sporting success as some of our netball players took part in the annual netball festival at Trent College this afternoon. A special mention to one of our team members who won the title of 'best defender'. A big thank you to Mrs D and Jaimie for taking and supporting the pupils. who represented the school so well.
What a super active day we have had! Thank you to all the families that supported our Football Shirt Friday, in aid of the Booby Moore Foundation (bowel cancer awareness). We had lots of fun activities based around football in the afternoon from locating teams across the world, orienteering with a football theme and, of course, cross bar challenge to name but a few. Many thanks to Mr Capewell for organising this fun event.
We are excited to announce a special event taking place on Friday, 25th April. The children are invited to wear a football shirt to school to support Football Shirt Friday (linked to the Bobby Moore Foundation Cancer Charity).
To participate, each child is asked to donate 50p. All proceeds will go to the Bobby Moore Fund, which supports bowel cancer research and aims to increase public awareness of the disease.
If your child does not have a football shirt, they are welcome to wear any sports shirt or the colour of their favourite team. As we have sporting events in the afternoon, children can wear their sports tops and PE bottoms (tracksuit or shorts) and trainers.
What a fabulous start to the term - we had our swimming squad out at the local swim gala at West Park this morning.
The team did a terrific job, with girls coming 4th and boys securing the top spot of 1st place. Overall we were just pipped to finish second out of all the teams. Well done to the pupils who represented the school so well. You were amazing!
